Cumbalum is a town within the local government area of the Ballina Shire in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. The Shire was a result of the merger of the Municipality of Ballina and Tintenbar Shire in 1976. It is located adjacent to the Pacific Highway and the Tasman Sea. The Flat Rock Tent Park, located in Cumbalum, is a natural park that has been preserved from coastal development. It is situated on top of a basalt outcrop, surrounded by a coast bushland. Campers who frequent The Flat Rock Tent Park enjoy a secluded and peaceful atmosphere. The Ballina Golf and Sports club is also nearby and caters to sports enthusiasts and families alike, with its beautiful golf course and gardens.
