Stroud Road is a small town that is right outside the Newcastle region in New South Wales. The town may be accessed through the major highway of Bucketts Way. As early as 1820, the town had strong ties with the farming industry located within the surrounding areas. Some of the major structures that were built earlier in the town’s history still stand in the Stroud Road. There are notable underground grain silos that were used to store massive amounts of grain that were transported to different parts of the country.
The town is known for the Stroud Show, which celebrates the culture and traditions of the town. Every year, the Stroud International Brick and Pin Throwing Contest is held, as well as the Stroud Rodeo, which happens every third weekend of September. The Franciscan Monastery of the Blessed Virgin Mary offers accommodations and retreat sites for those who want to get away from the city.
