The town of Kundabung is named after the Aboriginal term for “wild apples.” The town is located in the North Coast region of New South Wales. Historically, it was one of the towns that were serviced by the North Coast railway line, which ended in 1974. The Pacific Highway traverses through the middle of Kundabung, offering stunning views of the many state forests found in the area. These protected forests such as Kalateenee State Forest as well as Maria River Forest house some of the country’s rarest species.
Tourists who are on their way to one of Kempsey’s most popular tourist attractions, Crescent Head beach, may stop by Kundabung for casual car check-ups from one of the reputable automotive experts in the town. The nearby Crescent Head beach has long stretches of stunning coastline where visitors can swim, surf, fish or enjoy recreational activities like bird watching and bushwalking. Turtles and dolphins may be spotted near the shore.
