Harwood is a village within the local government area of the Clarence Valley Council in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. The village of Harwood is known as the home of the Harwood Bridge, which is an 888-metre long steel truss bridge that carries the Pacific Highway across the main channel of the Clarence River. Before the bridge’s existence, river crossing was done using three cable-guided ferries. The bridge was completed in 1966, fully replacing ferry crossing in New South Wales. There are two land areas in Harwood that are now zoned for industrial activities, both of which are located along Morphett Street near the Pacific Highway. These sites in Harwood have easy access to roads and surrounding agricultural areas.
