Tyalgum is a small rural village in the northeastern part of New South Wales. Tyalgum is served by a general store established in 1908, a pub, a wood-working shop and a local pool. One of Tyalgum’s most visited locations for locals and tourists alike is the Flutterbies Cottage Cafe, which is home to the famous Flutterbie Cakes. The bakery was founded in 1927, and it offers a wide range of homemade pastries, cakes and pies that go well with its coffee.
Tyalgum is also the home of the Tyalgum Festival of Classical Music first started in 1991. Since then, classical music artists and music lovers flock to Tyalgum every September to witness one of Australia’s best classical events, which is held in the Tyalgum Hall.
