Pottsville is a town in New South Wales in Tweed Shire. It was previously known as Pott’s point, after Bill Potts who owned the first home in town. The name was subsequently changed to Pottsville to differentiate it from a similarly named place in Sydney. The town is largely residential and is home to several housing developments like Seabreeze, Koala Beach and Black Rocks Estate. Pottsville is also known for its long, uninterrupted beaches situated right on the mouth of the creek. Twice a month, the town hosts Potsville Markets that feature art exhibitions, animal rides, local produce and live musical performances.
