Bonny Hills is a suburban town located in the local government area of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council in the state of New South Wales. It was in the late 1800s when settlement activity first happened in the suburb. At that time, Bonny Hills’ land area was mainly used for hunting, fishing and market gardening. In the 1930s, development projects began to take shape, but significant growth occurred in the 1950s and 1960s. Today, the suburb has become a residential community near beaches and reserves. Some of the major landmarks within and near Bonny Hills include Queens Lake State Forest, Queens Lake Nature Reserve, Bartletts Beach, Rainbow Beach Reserve, Lake Innes Nature Reserve, Foreshore Reserve, Queens Lake State Conservation Area, Rainbow Beach, Grants Beach, Community Hall Reserve, Aqua Reserve, Jabiru Reserve and the Johnathon Dixon Reserve.
