Roughly 485 kilometres away from the capital city of Sydney, the suburban community of Warialda is located on the North West Slopes of New South Wales. Its name literally means “place of the wild honey.” The vicinity of Warialda is outlined by numerous landscapes and seascapes. Some of these are Mount Jerrybang, Slaughterhouse Pinnacle and Mount Pepperbox, to mention a few. The town also has nearby tourist spots. Some of these are Ceramic Break Sculpture Park, which was made by Kerry Cannon, a bronze sculptor, and Wing Hing Long Heritage Emporium, which is considered to be “a living museum” and a monument to celebrate the Chinese influence to Australian rural life. The main transport services to the area of Warialda include the Warialda train station and the Moree Airport. Additionally, Warialda is also the birthplace of Elizabeth Kenny, the scientist who pioneered the treatment of poliomyelitis.
