Singleton is a town on the banks of the Hunter River in New South Wales located 197 kilometres north west of Sydney and approximately 80 kilometres north west of Newcastle.
Established in the 1820’s by Benjamin Singleton it was initially called Patricks’ Plains. Early heritage is evident as the town retains a number of lovely historic buildings such as the courthouse, various churches and pubs. Singleton still contains many fine old mansions, reflecting the aristocratic nature of land grants when the area was settled.
Today the local economy is supported by a diverse industrial base, skilled labour force and industry access to vital infrastructure.
