Located in the Hunter Lower Valley of the Cessnock City Council in New South Wales, Wollombi is approximately 104 kilometres away from the capital city of Sydney, Australia. This town used to be occupied by the Aboriginal tribes of the Darkinjung. Its name was also derived from an Aboriginal term that means “meeting place of the waters.”
The suburban area of Wollombi is bounded by several features of landscapes and waterscapes, such as Mount Warrawolong, Broken Back Range and Lake Eraring, to name a few.
