New Lambton Heights, located near the Newcastle central business district, is a suburb that houses the main hospital complex. The complex consists of medical centres such as the Newcastle Private Hospitals, Royal Newcastle Centre and John Hunter Children’s. Because of these centres, a large number of New Lambton Heights’ population consists of hospital employees and doctors.
The suburb is filled with native trees that provide shade to those who love to spend their time outdoors. A fragment of the suburb is also bordering the Blackbutt Nature Reserve, which is a popular attraction in the area. Visitors can enjoy the outdoors by walking on hiking trails and stopping by enclosures with koalas, birds, emus, wallabies and kangaroos.
