Metford is a suburban town located in the local government area of Maitland City Council in New South Wales. The community is along the New England Highway, providing access to the area’s commercial and recreational facilities. In 1857, the NSW TrainLink opened the Hunter line. A railway station was soon built and became functional on March 17, 1995. The station serves the suburb in the eastern area.
