Situated in the Central Coast Region of New South Wales, Davistown is a suburb that is a part of the City of Gosford local government area. The suburb’s residents are mostly retirees and young couples that have renovated old buildings in the suburb to make new homes.
Davistown was named after Davis family. After settling in the area, the family managed to be successful in the business of ship building firms. It is estimated than Ben Davis built 49 vessels from 1869 to 1879, while his brother Rock built at least 160 vessels between 1863 and 1904.
Davistown is host to the yearly Peninsula Davistown event, which is done in support of breast cancer research. The walk usually starts at Davistown Park and ends at Kincumber.
