Townsend is a small village located in the Far North Coast area in New South Wales. The town, which is about 650 kilometres away from Sydney, is under the local government area of Clarence Valley. Because of its quiet atmosphere surrounded by bushlands, many families prefer to settle down in Townsend. The Clarence Valley Council animal pounds are also located in Townsend. Locals wishing to give these dogs and cats homes are encouraged to visit the pound. All the animals in the pounds are vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Townsend is also just a quick hop away from Maclean, a relaxed river town that is a popular tourist destination because of its fishing ports and proximity to National Parks.
