Merrygoen is a suburban community located within the local government area of Warrumbungle Shire in New South Wales. In November 1, 1879, the first post office opened in town, which also serves as a connection between railroad tracks to Troy Junction on the Coonamble rail line and the Gwabegar rail line. The station no longer operates in the present, but grain storage facilities and numerous sidings are still being used today.
Based on 2011 census information, almost 96% of the local population in Merrygoen was born in Australia. The town’s working class is generally composed of managers and labourers during this time.
