Curban is a town located within the local government area of the Gilgandra Shire in the Orana region of New South Wales. The shire was once known as the “Town of the Windmills” with the number of windmills in it reaching over 300 by the 1950s. The small town of Curban is near some tourist attractions in the Gilgandra Shire. The Tooraweenah for instance is the gateway to the famous Warrumbungle National Park. Even the route toward the park is scenic, with a view platform located between Tooraweenah Village and Tourist Route 1 that offers magnificent views of the Warrumbungles. The Gilgandra Coo-ee Heritage Centre is also just a drive away. The centre has exhibits of Aboriginal artwork, and picnic and barbecue facilities.
