Birriwa is a suburban community within the local government area of the Mid-Western Regional Council in New South Wales. The town’s surrounding area borders around agricultural land and meadows, which make farming one of the most common industries in the suburb. It is in close proximity to nature parks and reserves such as the Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve, the Goulburn River National Park, the Dapper Nature Reserve, the Coolah Tops National Park and the Binnaway Nature Reserve. The local tourism industry benefits from the suburban town’s closeness to these wildlife attractions.
A railroad line and station used to be one of the transportation modes in Birriwa when it opened in 1909, but it no longer offers passenger service. Other types of public infrastructure in the area also include a large grain storage facility.
