Wyoming is a suburb of the Central Coast in New South Wales located 4 km’s north-east of the Gosford central business district.
The land was named after the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania made famous by the 1809 poem “Gertrude of Wyoming”.
Predominantly a residential suburb, the first building was the pub, built by convicts in 1854 and still standing.
Today, the town comprises a small shopping centre housing Coles, an Aldi’s, fast-food outlets, petrol stations and other various local community stores including a medical centre. Three primary schools service the area, and a range of multidenominational churches.
