Pearl Beach is a coastal suburb within the local government area of Gosford City, situated on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The suburb is located south of Umina Beach and is bounded on the west by the Brisbane Water National Park, with the Broken Bay to its east. Tourists looking for swimming spots favour the south end of the beach, as it has placid waters sheltered by rock formations and Lion Island. The northern end of the beach is more popular with experienced swimmers, because of its rough surf. Unofficially called “the dumpers”, the north end is a well-known bodysurfing spot. The Pearl Beach village is part of the National Trust of Australia’s Broken Bay Landscape Conservation Area.
