Mardi is a small suburban town located in the local government area of the Wyong Shire Council in the state of New South Wales. The town’s name was taken from an Aboriginal word that means “stone knife.” The first signs of development took place in Mardi in the 1980s. A swift pace of growth occurred in Mardi in the 1990s. Today, the suburb has grown into a residential area with space for commercial and industrial activities. Tourists may visit many interesting places near the suburb, including the Tuggerah Nature Reserve and the Westfield Tuggerah Shoppingtown. Other landmarks that are in close proximity to the suburb include the St. Peter’s Catholic College, the Wyong RSL Sports Complex and the Tuggerah Public School.
