Kincumber is a suburban town in the local government area of the Gosford City Council in the state of New South Wales. The town's name is derived from the Aboriginal term “kincumba,” which could either mean “towards the rising sun” or “to tomorrow”. Local industries in Kincumber during the early times included boat construction and logging.
Tourism is also an integral part of the local economy. One of the main tourist attractions in the suburb include the Kincumba Mountain, which is a nature reserve used frequently amongst community members for different recreational purposes. Some of these activities are bush walking, parties, carnivals, picnic gatherings and orienteering. Other public facilities and commercial establishments also include a primary school and high school, shopping complex, postal office, hotel, dining outlets and a library.
