In the Southern Highlands of New South Wales’ Northern Village sits the town of Hill Top. This locality in Wingecarribee Shire used to be called “Jellore” and “Hilltop.” The M5 freeway is only 10 kilometres from the town centre. There was a time when the Main Southern Railway serviced the area. Today, the train is no longer running. After the rail line was rerouted, it became known as Picton Loop Line, which was operational until the year 1978.
