Our staff have the facilities to provide care in the event of minor emergencies, and we also provide free childhood vaccinations. Bulk billing is available for all patients, and our caring, compassionate staff are happy to answer any questions or concerns you have. At Edmonton Family Medical Centre, we have a diabetes, pap test and asthma clinic on site. We also have a visiting bulk billing GP's Our clinic is equipped to provide chronic disease management and can also provide minor surgical procedures to the patients in our care. Established in 1940, Abbott Medical Clinic has a long history of providing quality medical care in Earlville, south Cairns. The doctors at our Cairns medical clinic offer a full range of medical services for patients of all ages including regular health checks for the whole family through to pre-employment medicals, as well as minor surgeries. Abbott Medical Clinic is a dedicated health facility where you can receive treatment for a variety of health issues. Our Cairns family doctors will take care of you and your family's health care needs including hearing tests, immunisations, cardiac care and skin checks, as well as mental health plans. Amaroo Medical is a purpose-built medical facility established in 2015 at Amaroo Park Estate, Mareeba. (Previously known as Byrnes St Medical Centre). Amaroo Medical has easy access and plenty of parking and boasts 6 modern consulting rooms, a two-bed treatment room and a state-of-the-art procedure room. Our Doctors include: Dr Cheryl Harnischfeger, Dr Sian Moore, Dr Lyndel Cahill, Dr Akil Islam and Dr Linda Abenthum. We also train Registrars and Medical Students from JCU, so you may see them in the Practice from time to time. Our team also includes Practice Nurses, Medical Assistants and Receptionists to assist you with your health needs. The office is open from 8:30am to 5pm Monday-Friday with late night clinics on Mondays and Thursdays, when we are open until 8.00pm. We run an appointment system, but keep some spaces to fit in urgent problems. Please phone the office on 4092 5900 at 8:30am to schedule an emergency appointment. Appointments are booked at 15-minute intervals, so you can expect to spend 10-15 minutes with the doctor. This may change if there have been emergencies or if the surgery is very busy. You can phone the surgery before your appointment to check whether we are running on time. If you require a longer appointment for a minor operation, counselling, medical examination or multiple problems, please discuss this with the receptionist before making the appointment. You can also make appointments with the Practice Nurse for blood pressure checks, dressings, suture removal and immunisations. Payment is due at the time of consultation, however, we have a facility called EASYCLAIM so when you pay your bill on the day, your Medicare refund can be paid directly onto your EFTPOS/Debit card or directly into your nominated bank account.
