Our team consists of a variety of doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and medical support staff who work together to deliver a high-quality, professional service, with a friendly local smile. We offer a range of occupational health and general practice services including family health care, women’s and men’s health, immunisations, travel medicine, chronic disease management, skin screening and minor surgery. We encourage our patients to participate in decisions regarding their healthcare.

Medical Centres

Stuart Park Surgery is a medical clinic providing all general practice services covering families, women's health, men's health, children and the elderly. We also provide treatment and management of work injuries and other workers compensation matters. Services include contraceptive advice, pregnancy tests, antenatal care, pap smears, skin checks, removal of skin cancers, pre-employment work medicals, travel vaccinations (excluding yellow fever), flu and other vaccinations, spirometry, ECG, audiometry, and instant drug screening. We do not prescribe tranquillisers or drugs of addiction to addicted individuals. Stuart Park Surgery, located in the Westralia Street Shopping Centre, was established by Dr Ted Giblin in 1975 and moved to its present location in 1981. Dr David Welch, the practice principal, has worked at the surgery since 1982, and we have been an accredited teaching practice for doctors and nurses since 1984. We also have quality assessment accreditation with AGPAL - Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited. Our regular doctors are: Dr Kim Manias, Dr Brian Cluney, Dr Jamila Priore, Dr Sajeel Samjowan, Dr Darshani Wijayaratne and Dr Aruna Wijayaratne. Our Darwin After Hours Medical Service is open 9am to 3pm on weekends and public holidays. We closed our weeknight clinics mid-year 2015 due to the reduced demand for this service. Children under 16 and Commonwealth Aged Pensioners with a valid card are bulk billed.

As a family practice we cater to all ages and welcome new patients, with bulk billing for age pensioners, Veterans Affairs cardholders and children under 16. Our clinics provide check-ups, obstetrics, immunisations, travel vaccinations and family planning advice. We also cater for minor surgeries, including stitching wounds and replacing dressings. Our doctors are qualified to perform skin cancer checks and can remove moles and lesions. We are equipped for all emergencies and offer home visits if you are unable to attend the clinic. Our Casuarina clinic specialises in women's health issues and has gynaecological services, including pap smears and contraception. We also conduct medical assessments and health checks and provide reports for industrial health checks, workers' health checks and driving medicals. If you are unable to attend during the week, weekend appointments available through our Casuarina, Palmerston and Humpty Doo clinics. Other services include hearing tests, spirometry, heart checks and providing patient health information. Our doctors are friendly and professional and always try to collaborate with your regular doctor where possible.
