Qantas Founders Museum

The town of Windorah hosts the Whitula Gate Museum, a must see when travelling through the Channel Country. Stop in at the Windorah Information Centre to access the museum, have a chat and a cuppa with a local and get the low down on all the other exciting things to see and do in Windorah. Windorah Visitor Information Centre and the Whitula Gate Museum are located on the main thoroughfare through Windorah, in the heart of the Channel Country. The centres provides a welcome stop during your travels, with Driver Reviver tea and coffee, beautiful gardens, historical displays, road and tourist information and good local knowledge. The friendly staff will make you feel welcome and provide you with all the information you require to make you journey as easy as possible. Part of the holiday experience is the truly stunning landscape that surrounds the Motel. The sunsets and sunrises that can be seen from the top of the hill, draw people from far and wide. It is a favourite place for inspiration for photographers and artists. White Cliffs Underground Motel provides accommodation and catering for singles to large families or groups and conferences. "Have you seen the Light?" Visit the Min Min Encounter where you will meet eccentric true blue Aussie 'characters' such as Bluey, Mrs McGreal and more who will enthrall you with their stories of the mysterious min min lights. These unexplained balls of glowing light have appeared to travellers for decades with the first recorded sighting at a lonely Cobb and Co staging site in the Boulia Shire. Is it legend, myth, real? Well we are here to tell you and so will the residents and many visitors to the Shire over the years that they are not fanciful tales after a few rums but unexplained and possibly will always remain so. So come and discover them for yourself but remember you don't find the lights they find you!
