I had a great tour seeing a decent-sized female crocodile and lots of birdlife. Plus, the tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly.

Crocodile ExpressCompared to all other kart tracks in Australia, Mako Trac is easily the best. Great customer service. All staff are very helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to all things karting and racing. The broadest range of quality karts available. Easily the best maintained karts, I've seen, and something for everyone from small children all the way up to the budding racer. If that weren't enough, there are two tracks available, also. I no longer bother wasting my money at any Melbourne or Sydney go-kart tracks and just wait for my next trip to the Mako Trac - definitely worth the wait and the trip to Mareeba!

MakoTrac International RacetrackChillagoe Observatory & Eco Lodge is well maintained. There are lots of space for unpowered camping. Great amenities, too.

Chillagoe Observatory & Eco LodgeI went to the Herberton Mining Museum on the recommendation of the Herberton Historic Village. Whilst it is a great display - I tried toask the two older gentlemen questions as my family had been working on the tin mines there so I keen to find out more info. They were indifferent and more interested in listening to music or something on their phones and TV - it was really disappointing after attending the informative historic village. I do realise these are volunteer positions.
