This place was interesting and very informative. Our whole family enjoyed Kronosaurus Korner.

Chillagoe Observatory & Eco Lodge is well maintained. There are lots of space for unpowered camping. Great amenities, too.

I went to the Herberton Mining Museum on the recommendation of the Herberton Historic Village. Whilst it is a great display - I tried toask the two older gentlemen questions as my family had been working on the tin mines there so I keen to find out more info. They were indifferent and more interested in listening to music or something on their phones and TV - it was really disappointing after attending the informative historic village. I do realise these are volunteer positions.

troopy says this information centre is definitely a must-visit and it's one of the friendliest centres they've visited. The feeding of the Dunnart, a tiny mouse-like marsupial found in the area, was fascinating, plus they enjoyed a virtual reality experience of helicopter mustering. Nothing was too much trouble.
