A bustling hub south-west of Tamworth, Werris Creek was specifically chosen by the NSW Government in 1877 to be a gateway for railway travel and trade across the region. Werris Creek thrived on the steam era from the 1870s to the 1960s, and even today retains many artefacts from that time. The Railway Journeys Museum actively conserves and exhibits railway memorabilia from electric staff instruments to miniature trains in an interactive manner for visitors to experience. The Walcha Historical Society is a not-for-profit organisation formed following a public meeting on the 6th April 1962 in that year, held in the Walcha Shire Offices. The Society is run by a dedicated group of volunteers whose aim is to preserve the history of not only Walcha itself, but also the surrounding districts..

The Village has been designed to collect, preserve, restore, interpret and exhibit artefacts that relate to the history, heritage and culture of the regional area. The Museum, Heritage Village and coffee shop are open Friday, Saturday and Sundays 10 am - 4 pm and other times by appointment.

There is a beautiful long section along the Reddestone Creek for fishing, catching yabbies or swimming with easy access to jetties and ladders. At a short distance from the camping area is the �The Gunyah' which offers communal cooking facilities, a happy hour bar (BYO), a cosy wood heater, dance floor, library/reading area, showers and flush toilets.

Trout farm, 20 minute drive from Nundle. Take a guided tour, enjoy lunch, take the rainforest walk or try your hand at catching a plump trout. Farm tours at 11:00 am & 2:00 pm. Other times by arrangement.

Pilliga Pottery Creative Farmstay is a family-owned business. Maria Rickert, the founder, manages the business with her family partners Johannes, Regina and Bernhard. They are assisted by Julie the former in-house governess and most gifted artist as well as several loyal team members who assist in running the shop and the café.
