I rung THAP to have someone come look at our 18 month old dryer that had stopped working. The man who came out was nice and said "we like to take them into the shop to have a look, where we have the space etc" and assured me it would not cost any more than a call out. To make a long story short, they pulled the dryer apart, told Fisher & Paykel it was 'in a thousand pieces' on the workshop floor (thus voiding our warranty!) and told me I would 'have to pay for all the time to put it back together' ! So basically, they cost us a $1900 condenser dryer, as to replace the motor (which would have been covered by warranty) is almost as much as buying a new one.
As a customer I felt bullied, and the outcome was the worst I could have imagined.
