I find wedding photography extremely rewarding. I get to make friends with absolute legends, hang out with them on the happiest day of their lives and then deliver fine art that they’ll cherish for the rest of their lives. I have loved taking photos from a very young age. The single thing that I love most is that photos make people happy. My Name is Tom Coburn, I reside on the south coast of NSW, Australia. Growing up next to the ocean I developed a passion for surfing early, and through that, surf film making and photography. I started documenting the characters and intricacies of the ocean from a young age, and continue to do so. I never set out to become anything in particular, only to live creatively and push the scope of my experience for adventure. But when a wedding photographer friend asked me to come along and shoot the greatest adventure in most anyone’s life, I knew I had found my niche. I see life in angles, in lines of perspective, a slight turn of the head, the blink of an eye, subtle glimpses of magic other folk might pass by. Cameras help me translate, interpret and understand what I see. To me, filmmaking is not a service, its an art form. I like to think of your booking as a commission for an artwork, that you can view and enjoy for the rest of your days. I find satisfaction in capturing and documenting one of the most important days of your life in the way that I see it. Every wedding is a memorable experience for me. On the day, there is no team of 4 or 5 crew setting up tripods and cranes all over and causing a distraction, it is just me, subtly capturing what I see, when I see it. Life on the road is something I was raised to embrace, I am happy to travel whatever distance it may be to be there on your day.
