How often should I do Pilates?
To see noticeable results in a relatively short period of time Pilates should be practiced regularly for three, one hour sessions per week. Power on Pilates understands that a busy work/life schedule does not always allow for this. We invite people from all walks of life, with a range of personal fitness goals and remind everyone to leave their ego at the door!
We ask only that our students commit to achieving their own personal best, and focus mind to mat during the regular sessions they attend to get the best possible results.
About
What is Pilates? More than just a great work out for the physical body! Pilates is a form of exercise developed in the 1920's to work the mind and muscle in harmony, and is great for those looking to achieve graceful movement, long lean muscles and a strong stream lined physique. Pilates is a common method of mind-body fitness and is gentle enough to be used by physiotherapists as a rehabilitation tool, right through to top level dancers and athletes for body conditioning. This form of exercise works to strengthen all of the muscles in the body, is low impact and is one of the most effective ways to change body shape, improve posture and tone up. Exercise regimes are challenging and can achieve fantastic results for any fitness level or any age. From those wishing to improve their strength, flexibility, and physical fitness, to those with injuries, or during pregnancy. In short this form of exercise is great for anyone.

AOK has the best products and the team are friendly and helpful. I got the mediBall which I use instead of a chair at my desk. It is fantastic and a great tool in my small home office. The fact it doesn't take up much room and is dual purposed means I can use it for exercise too. It is great for my core and posture and the free exercise charts help me remember how to do the movements correctly! I also have Yoga tools from AOK. The folding mat is extra thick making it fabulous for my ageing knees. With it's handy strap I can easily take it with me to Yoga classes and to work out outdoors too. The AOK Knee Support, PhysioRoller and Yoga Pads are other items I use regularly. They are all durable, lightweight and the best quality.

About
We are movement therapists and provide movement solutions. We look at the big picture. Our community needs to move more to combat the lifestyle diseases plaguing it. Our role is clear, it is to ensure you have the movement competency and capacity to do the things that you need to do in life and for health, without pain or restriction. For this to last a lifespan we need movement quality first and then quantity. We call this athletic sustainability. Our toolbox draws from the disciplines of physiotherapy, exercise science, and strength and conditioning. We discern, without bias, exactly where and when each modality should applied. It is not a haphazard combination of different modalities but a seamless integration within a unique, holistic and proven system.

Julie was absolutely amazing and I couldn't recommend her more! After injuring my back at work and being in pain for over 3 months despite seeing another physio I was convinced I would have to live with this pain forever. Julie proved me wrong, she did a complete injury analysis, came up with a thorough treatment plan with a timeline of differing treatments, home stretches, and exercises to strength up all my muscle loss from being immobile for so long. She has decades of experience and puts so much care into her treatments. I can't praise her enough, if you want thorough, caring, evidence based practice, and years of experience then see Julie on Medowie Road and you will not be disappointed!
