The Pilates Method of exercise was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. The work was kept alive over the years by a Romana Kryzanowska (1923 - 2013): A close student of Joseph Pilates, Kryzanowska took over as director of Joseph Pilates studio a few years after he passed away.
