Good Shepherd Village is a 42 unit Retirement Village Complex providing the elderly Mackay community with a trusted retirement community. Most are able to be cared for within the general high and low care environment with only minimal interventions required, which are "tailored" to suit the individual. Some, however will be required to have more specific care plans developed, where specialized staff, including diversional therapists, nursing and other allied health staff conduct activities and programs that are dementia specific. All areas have been designed to be dementia friendly, with tactile walls, gardens, pets, and activity rooms for craft. All rooms are specifically designed to incorporate modern technology to monitor residents without invading their privacy.
