The Abraham Lincoln Motel is a family-owner-operated motel renowned for country hospitality and personalized service. We have fifteen spacious ground-floor units situated on large grounds set amongst well-maintained lawns and rose gardens, which are a highlight when all out in flower. Named after possibly the most famous of all American Presidents the Abraham Lincoln Motel is not unique by name, but also by the way it was constructed. With two parallel rows of units located behind the main residence and reception, the layout means rooms are located well off the highway. Due to the units being built at different levels, they are much lower than the roadway and guests can experience a quiet and comfortable night's rest, as much of the road noise is dissipated over the top. Constructed with a distinct easterly aspect, guests can sit out the front of their rooms in winter and enjoy the warm sunshine in the mornings, and in summer have the benefit of complete shade to enjoy the cool outside in the evenings after a long day on the road. Officially rated at a high 3-star quality by AAA Tourism the Abraham Motel was recently ranked second of twenty-nine motels reviewed in Tamworth on Trip Advisor.

“Awesome motel on the way to Tamworth. Great location, close to everything. Very clean rooms and professional staff. Restaurant menu was a bit too "fancy", could have offered more economical options, but the food was divine. Great place to stay. Would recommend.”

“I was amazed at how spotlessly clean this place was. Negligible noise from the highway. The best modern heater in a room I have found in a motel in years, it really did the trick. The freezer of the refrigerator was ice free. Easily overlooked because the signage needs freshening up. I would stay here again. A big thank you to the elderly owner who waited up for our arrival. Not many would do that. A "confirmed" booking in Armidale via Wotif was non-existent and the owners of the motel in Armidale contacted the owner of the Altona Motel to find a room for us when every room between a Glen Innes and Armidale was booked out. Good Save!”

“We stayed here for 3 nights to ride the twisty roads. We won the meat raffle Friday night and the pub supplied a BBQ where we cooked a few meals near the motel units where we stayed. Very reasonably priced and the staff were super friendly. Excellent weekend. We Would definitely do that again!”
