Over twenty years ago brothers Steve and Ron Scobie founded a dedicated repair service for agricultural machinery in Ballarat’s southwest, after extensive experience at the local Ford New Holland dealership. Providing service and repairs on all manner of agricultural equipment, pre-delivery of new machinery and reconditioning of used equipment, the Scobie brothers have since broadened the business to include transport, logging and earthmoving vehicle repairs, and the construction of their own workshop, incorporating a steam cleaning station and spare parts department, and further development introduced a pit for engine and transmission rebuilds, suspension repairs and driveline work. Today the workshop also boasts a fleet of six vehicles equipped with an air compressor, a full complement of tools and parts and power supply, allowing us to offer mobile repairs and on-site servicing throughout Western and Central Victoria. We’re also happy to provide fleet servicing options, including collection of vehicles’ complete service histories.

Ultra Tune commenced trading in 1979 with a pilot store in Box Hill, Victoria and rapidly expanded across the country after businessman Bert Smart saw a specialist Fast Tune-Up store in Hawaii whilst travelling home from the USA. Through Smart’s vision, we established a franchise model that caused the new business to expand rapidly into all Australian states except WA. Using the latest Dyno Tune technology, which enabled vehicles to be tuned whilst on “rolling roads”, Ultra Tune garnered a nationwide public acceptance in the competitive after-market servicing sphere.
