Block, punch and kick your way to fitness with karate at the Mackay Karate Centre. Classes in the ancient martial art are held every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday under the guidance of highly trained instructors. Aside learning how to defend yourself, karate teaches self-confidence, respect, etiquette and self-control. Head instructor, Sensei Dr. Lutie van den Berg, is a 7th Dan JKA karate coach. The current head coach national team, he is assisted by 3rd Dan JKA coaches Mark Ramsdale and Robyn Johnsen who have been training under Sensei Lutie for more than a decade.
