We started as a steering committe in November 2008 having identified a need for a Men's Shed in the area. After a lot of hard work the Shed was officially opened in February 2011 The name relates to the area postcode of 2322 and that is the area we encompass. The Shed was established with the aim of providing men with a place to be productive, establish new relationships and even just somewhere to have a cup of tea and a chat with someone. Newcastle City Council have allowed us to occupy what was formerly the local tennis club at Beresfield. The premises are not ideal for our purposes but surprisingly we manage to create items for the local community when we are asked to. Not having a dedicated shed limits our ability to make multiple items for sale and this is where we are missing out on an income stream.

Beresfield & District Community Care Inc. provide a range of support services in the Lower Hunter Region, to assist the frail, aged & younger people with a disability to remain independent in their home for as long as they choose. Carers are also supported in their vital role. Services provided include: Individual Transport, Meals on Wheels, Domestic Assistance and Social Support, Personal Care, Shopping, Centre Based Day Care, Carers Group Home Maintenance/lawn mowing & gardening Beresfield Community Care is approved to supply supports under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Cerebral Palsy Alliance provides family-centred therapies, life skills programs, equipment and support for people and their families living with cerebral palsy and other neurological and physical disabilities. At CPA our priority is to help babies, children, teenagers and adults living with neurological and physical disabilities lead the most comfortable, independent and inclusive lives possible. Our therapy teams work with individuals and families to maximise their participation in the community.
