Cory McMillan left a review for ABC Driving School
Knowledgeable Instructors

The very knowledgeable instructors and assessors really went out of their way to help me gain my MR license recently! I would recommend ABC to anyone who is looking to upgrade their license!

Sam's driving lessons

While I only had the one lesson with Sam before my driving test, I learned a much better method of reverse parallel parking, and he seemed to have a better method of teaching than my previous two driving instructors while also being significantly cheaper - and you can't really ask for much more than that.

Joe left a review for Illawarra Driving School
SO exciting

I don't think I could have passed my test and learned to drive as well as i did if it wasn't for Illawarra Driving School. They made it so easy and comfortable to learn to drive. I am so grateful to Illawarra Driving School for everything they have taught me. Im so excited I can now drive by myself and passed my test. Thanks again.

Common questions about driving schools

What must I do to obtain my Provisional license?

You must complete 100 hours of driving with an instructor, parent or guardian followed by a practical test with the driving school of your choice.

Can I take my driving lessons in my own vehicle?

Yes. It’s best to familiarise yourself with your own car before getting out on the road on your own.

Can I only drive during the day on a learner licence?

There are no restrictions, however you may be required to complete a certain number of hours at night depending on the state you’re in.

How many lessons can I book with the driving school?

You can book as many as you like. The first 10 lessons will count as 30 hours toward your logbook and then one lesson will count for one hour.

The place to find the best driving schools in Wollongong.

Get the confidence you need to drive on Wollongong roads with lessons from a qualified driving instructor. Driving schools throughout the region offer affordable lessons to teach new and experienced drivers the best way to drive safely. Completing your mandatory number of hours can be a challenge. Learner drivers are required to complete 120 hours of driving, including 20 night hours, before being able to take the P plates test. While driving with friends or family can satisfy this requirement, an even easier method is to engage with your local driving school. Wollongong instructors can provide safe, affordable lessons to drivers of all ages and these lessons are usually part of the 3-for-1 scheme. The 3-for-1 scheme means for every hour of driving done with a NSW driving instructor, you will get 3 hours logged in your book. This is an invaluable way to reduce the total number of hours you need to spend behind the wheel. Of course, engaging with a driving school comes with a range of benefits. Driving instructors are experienced and able to provide helpful tips for a wide range of common mistakes. From reverse-parallel parking, to 3-point turns and general road safety, your driving instructor will offer you fresh, unique outlooks and best practices to complete any manoeuvre your test may require. Can’t get to the driving school yourself? Don’t worry! Most instructors will be able to come straight to your home, school or workplace, anywhere in the Wollongong region. And with a variety of male and female instructors available, you’ll always feel comfortable with who’s teaching you. Wollongong driving schools can do both auto and manual lessons, and there are options for you to use your own car upon request. Or, if you’ve already got your licence but haven’t driven for a while, there are a range of refresher courses designed to get you up-to-date with any new road rules and to give you the confidence to get back on the road. Another great method for boosting your confidence, and reducing the total hours you need to complete in your logbook, is enrolling in a safe drivers course. These courses involve teaching you defensive driving techniques that will help keep you, your passengers and other drivers safe. These courses can also count for up to 20 hours in your book! Not sure where to begin? Contact our local Wollongong driving schools and ask them about the keys 2 drive lessons. These lessons are funded by the Federal Government and include a free first lesson that every learner driver is entitled to. These are a great way to start you off and get you used to being behind the wheel. Whether you’ve just turned 16 and want to get your learning underway, or you’ve had a license before and need to refresh your skills, Wollongong driving schools have the right course for you. Contact your local driving instructor to arrange your lesson today.
