Hello, I thought that you might like to know a little about me, Rhonda Grasby. After completing my training to be a Dietitian in Canada, I worked for a year. I then decided to make my way to Australia to the Illawarra. I have worked in all hospitals from Coledale to Nowra and on all wards. During my time in the hospital system I managed two nutrition departments and one food service department, along with being a consultant for other hospitals. There have been occasions when I have provided my services to organizations like Blue Scope Steel, nursing homes, schools including Tafe and the university. I have been interviewed at various times for radio, television and the Mercury. For the last 20 plus years I have been operating a private consulting business - Complete Care Consultancy Centre P/L. The thing I like most about this is hearing people talk about how their lives have been so positively impacted by the changes I have suggested to their food habits. Nutrition is an evolving science. Virtually every day there are new discoveries. Some of these discoveries are coming about because of better understanding of genetics. The two new sciences have emerged since the discovery of the human genome. One is nutrigenomics and the other nutrigenetics. These sciences are about the study of how food influences our genes and genes influence how we are able to utilize that food. I love learning new things and this field gives me the opportunity to do this. What I also like to do is to bring these new findings to people in a practical way. I try to make people feel comfortable with empathy and non judgement. Working together is the best way to find solutions.
