Craniosacral therapy along with deep myofascial release and integration with the mind and spirit brings healing and alignment of the spine on a deeper level. As a Registered Nurse practising craniosacral therapy at an advanced level for 23 years I have a strong ethos about caring for people in our community. From newborns two adults struggling with vestibular dysfunction, post traumatic stress syndrome, and learning challenges, I am committed to understanding the root cause of the problem. Supporting people to bring mindfulness in to each of the steps we take, how we hold our body throughout the day and the behaviour that brings upon our experience. I have been getting chiro and massage monthly for over 10 years to maintain and keep headaches at bay from what I thought was muscle tension from subluxations from the excess curvature of my cervical spine. In recent times there's probably not been a day where I haven't had a headache. After the first treatment with Laura i hardly had a headache and after the 2nd treatment none at all. That's massive for me. This work is so gentle, nurturing yet deep and profound. I've had it all wrong what i've been doing to maintain my spine. Laura's treatment leads to true healing. Releasing the emotions stored in these tissues. I've already had some deep releases of stuff i never even knew about. The latest took me back to even in utero where my palate, facial bones began forming showing me i need to love and accept how i look in this world which honestly I haven't totally up until this point. Riina Kosonen is a remedial massage therapist with a genuine desire to help her clients feel better, live healthier and learn to love and appreciate themselves more. Riina loves to see her clients overcome various health complaints by committing to a self-care routine that nourishes both body and mind and has a positive flow-on effect on all aspects of their life. She has a special interest in treating stress related conditions such as migraines, tension headaches, neck, shoulder and TMJ pain, chronic back problems, depression, anxiety as well as pregnancy and post-natal massage. In her treatments Riina often combines a variety of massage techniques with gentle joint mobilisation, triggerpoint release, cupping, lymphatic drainage, Pyonex press needling and breathing & mindfulness exercises. Riina graduated from Endeavour College of Natural Health in Melbourne in 2012, completed her Certificate in Pregnancy Massage 2013 and has since continued to receive further training and mentoring from leading experts in her field. She has several years of experience in clinical and corporate massage as well as educating her clients on health and wellness matters. Riina practices in the heart of Newcastle from Monday to Friday.
