Our Director and Senior Technician, Mark Porter, was born in Proserpine and commenced his electrical apprenticeship as a young teenager. In 1998 he moved away for a few years and married Kim before starting their beautiful family. Mark returned to the area in 2007 with Kim in time for their third son to be born in the March. Their children attended the local state schools and are growing into kind, compassionate and good young men, now aged 20, 19 and 15. In 2007, Mark and Kim started a partnership providing electrical, air conditioing, refrigeration and appliance repair. The appliance repair became the largest component of their business for all the major appliance brands and they fast became Whitsunday’s largest warranty appliance repair agent. They redirected their business in 2015 growing into a family owned company called ‘Hummingbird Refrigeration, Electrical & Air Conditioning‘. From here they transitioned away from appliance repair and directed their energies toward the electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration side of the business.
