We are a micro-roastery located in Toowoomba, Queensland. We have partnered with select green coffee importers who focus on sourcing coffees according to their seasonality, sustainability and taste. This ensures we have amazing coffee all year round and in the future as well. We are also passionate about how we roast our coffee, constantly trying to improve our roast profiles and deliver coffee that is true to its origin.

Originally a roasting house, Zarraffa’s Coffee first began operating from the backstreets of Southport on the Gold Coast, QLD. Back then, customers would come in for their daily coffee and enjoy a fresh brew while perched on a hessian bag full of green coffee beans that were yet to be roasted. From that first store in Southport on the Gold Coast, the Zarraffa’s Coffee business has evolved into an award-winning enterprise, now serving customers in over 70 locations across Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales. Leading the way in retail coffee innovation, Zarraffa’s Coffee developed its popular drive thru store concept in 2009, providing customers with quality coffee and added convenience. The company’s expansion to the West Coast in 2012 enabled Zarraffa’s to introduce its unique blend of coffee to a whole new region of coffee lovers. The company now operates its network of stores and drive thru locations on both sides of the country, with expansion planned in these key geographical areas in the coming years. The aim is to serve quality coffee and food, while providing an accepting and encouraging workplace for employees. As the first of its kind in Toowoomba, Bounce works to boost the self-confidence and independence of its team, providing flexible training, life skills and the opportunity for secure employment in the community. The popular Extraordinary Joe Cafe was put up for sale in May 2018. It had been operating in Newtown Toowoomba for several years and was a favourite with many local coffee drinkers. It was only a matter of days later that a regular customer, Brett, heard the news over his order of poached eggs on sourdough, and immediately said “I’ll buy it. A hundred times I’ve said that I like it so much that I want to buy it”. Before Brett could talk to the owners of Extraordinary Joe’s Cafe one of the workers, Danielle, said “Would you like to be co-owners?”. The rest, as they say, is history. The same staff, the same great coffee, the same goddess of food in the kitchen (Lou), we kept all of the wonderful ingredients of cafe success the same, but needed a new name. Danielle had one; New Brew Cafe. The New has a double meaning; New as in Newtown, and New because we hoped to develop a fresh new soulful attitude in the cafe and to connect with the community. Danielle manages the production of the food and coffee, while Brett takes care of the back office and still turns up every day for his breakfast. Finally, THANK YOU to all of our customers. Chain Reaction Qld started out as a hobby, not intended as a business at all. With interests in beaded jewellery and silversmithing as a hobby I was looking to source different suppliers for variety and pricing that wasn't currently available. Often friends dropping in for a coffee with similar interest would ask - Do you have a spare strand of these beads? Do you think you could find these for me? Others would see my creations and over the years many custom pieces have been admired and sold from the kitchen bench! Lol! From there it just got busier, we now stock everything from card making and scrapbooking, embellishments to quilling papers, all beading supplies with beads by the strand and the gram, sterling silver and silversmithing supplies.... hence the name Chain Reaction!! Our foundation is to make hobby crafts like beading, resin, card making and even silversmithing affordable and enjoyable to all.
