Our ethos is "Create another chance"​ ACSO was founded in 1983 by a man named Stan McCormack, who served a number of years in Pentridge Prison for armed robbery. While Stan was in prison, he underwent a spiritual conversion. There were always people in his cell wanting to talk, or needing advice. When he was released, he created the Epistle Centre; later The Victorian Offender Support Agency for ex-prisoners who were highly disadvantaged. Our founders established support programs and a halfway house (McCormack House) which still remains in operation today. ACSO has expanded over 35 years to deliver services across the eastern seaboard for the intellectually disabled, peopling with mental illness, alcohol and other drug problems, offenders and people with long term unemployment. With a staff of over 440 and an annual turnover of approximately $50m in 2019, ACSO is now a leading Australian NFP, delivering more than 20 life changing programs to approximately 20,000 people a year. "It was the sheer determination and drive of founder Stan and his supporters that got ACSO through, even when the foundations seemed to disappear. He was willing, and things happening so fast. There was a lot of help from a lot of people, but the brains and inspiration came from Stan. The best thing was that he took all those blokes in on face value without worrying about their pasts."

WDEA Works is a not-for-profit organisation that began in Warrnambool in 1989 to help people with a disability find open employment opportunities. In its first year, it employed three people. Today, more than 400 people are part of the WDEA Works team, at 36 sites across the Western half of regional Victoria and into South East South Australia. Over the past 30 years, WDEA Works has helped more than 40,000 people find meaningful and inclusive employment, improving their lives and enriching local communities.

The Opportunity Shop stocks quality pre-loved clothing, shoes, sporting goods, manchester and a large range of household goods from bric-a-brac to larger pieces of furniture. You can always find a wonderful novel or children’s story from the extensive book collection. Recycling quality donations provided by a generous community repurposed many items which find a new home. Like all Opportunity Shops ‘if you would be willing to give the item to your family member’, than GV Hospice would also welcome the item. During Business hours the Opportunity Shop welcomes donations, either directly to the shop or through the collection bins located in Corio Street, Shepparton. The Opportunity Shop is supported each day by an amazing number of Volunteers and employees. The funds raised enable GV Hospice to provide a 24 hour, 7 days a week service for the person and their carer living with a life limiting illness. From the sale of goods in the Shop, GV Hospice is able to provide equipment free of charge to those registered with the Service.
