Clunes Caravan Park is situated in the heart of the Gold Fields. It is here, where gold was first discovered in Victoria during what became “THE GOLDRUSH” in the mid 1800s. Clunes is an ancient, historical town with many old buildings and quaint gardens. Clunes is surrounded by many historical towns: Maryborough and Ballarat only 30minutes away.Bendigo 1 hour and Melbourne in under 2 hours. Then there is also all the historical mining towns jotted around, each with their touch of history, farmers markets, antique markets, brick-a-brack markets, swap meets, and speciality shops. Alternatively you can just sit back and enjoy the peacefulness of the caravan park, situated alongside the Creswick Creek, with huge shady Elm trees, green lawns and beautiful gardens listening to the birds going about their daily doings, spot the Platypus, you will have to be very early and quiet, for this one. Venture across the street for a coffee, rummage around some of our wonderful treasure shops and make sure you visit Marie at " Timeless Harmony Treasures "and finish the day at the “Rose & Oak”"Criterion" or the "National Hotel " for Lunch and dinner, There is also the Bakery and The Lollie shop & Cafe, and Book shops to search for that perfect book. So much to see and do, so pack up your kids, the dog, fishing line, the footy, and the tennis racket, your toothbrush, and come on over! Ballarat swap meets, Book town event, Talbot Markets, Sovereign Hill, Daylesford Markets, Gold detecting and Prospecting and panning, give it a go find your own gold nugget! State Forrest, Bird watching, Fishing, Walking, Hiking and Biking tracks, Annual Book Town event, Historic townships, Bowls, Tennis courts, Golf course, Swimming Pool, Cricket and AFL Oval, across the creek from the park, Skate Board track. Lake Learmonth Caravan Park is City Council owned and operated park, located 20 minutes west of Ballarat. Lake Learmonth is a Pet friendly Caravan Park for caravans, camper trailers and all other self-contained vehicles. There are a total of 6 on-site cabins avaliable. Four of these beuatiful appointed cabins overlook the Lake. There are two family cabins, sleeping up to 6 people and four Studio Cabins that sleep a maximumof 2 people. All cabins are fully self contained, including all cooking utensils/ appliances and incluse fresh linen and towels. Pets are strictly not permitted in cabins for the hygiene and comfort of all guests. The park offers a peaceful, quite place to relax & unwind by the Lake. Camping in tents / ground swags is not permitted at Lake Learmonth Caravan Park.
