I had a very bad experience with Newcastle city Holden. I purchased a 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara in October 2014 with 100,000ks. I do about 40,000ks a year, salesman said that if I get the mechanical protection plan and take it to them for servicing, it will have a capped service price and I won't have to worry about anything.
Well that's not what happened - they didn't take good care of the car at all. If it's covered by the mechanical protection plan they won't do it unless you ask. The capped price service only covers an oil change, and checking the car. And when your car blows a head gasket, not only did they say it's not covered they charged me $260 to diagnose it, something a mechanic down the road did for free.
The reason I took it to a mechanic down the road was because Newcaslte Holden quoted me $8,000-11,0000 to put in a refurbished engine. Or potentially pay even more to fix it.
After having the car re diagnosed within 5 minutes at the other mechanic I was quoted $2
Picked up my 1 year old Mustang from Kloster Ford of Hamilton Newcastle, it had rego until December 2021. I'm from Qld, the salesman tells me that I can transfer the balance of the rego into Qld registration if I take the paperwork into Qld Department motor transport. I asked him twice as I didnt think this was correct ? Yes he says its correct. So I drive home go into Qld Motor Transport and NO this is not true, so I had to pay for new Qld rego and an inspection for roadworthy. I asked Kloster to cancel the NSW rego, which is still active but now not being used and refund that to me, their answer ....NO. After sales service terrible.
We experienced a very weird, rude used car salesman there in the past, hope they got rid of him as he should have been sacked.. He had no customer service skills, couldn't believe how he spoke about my husband who did nothing to him. Bad management at the time how it was handled. We would never ever come back. How we were treated was not good enough. Don't know how this car yard would win any awards! All he did was get a bad name for his business as word of mouth catches on. It took us by surprise.
