In that selection process Chris suggested an initial meeting on-site to understand how we thought about the block and our initial thoughts for our requirements. We also wanted to have active involvement in the project. From that discussion we were impressed with Chris - he listened to us and had a professional and pragmatic approach to his thinking. The agreed architectural brief was for Chris to provide sketch design, detailed design and construction documentation services [for a fixed fee]. Throughout the design phases Chris provided many document versions for our comment at meetings and on-line; this process was both collaborative and very enjoyable. The end result is a house that met the brief, is easy to live in, is effectively a one-level house despite the steep site and takes advantage of the views and prevailing breezes.
