I was shopping for a later model Yamaha two stroke outboard to replace my trusty 23 year old and replied to an advertisement from Townsville Marine for a "New Motor, Yamaha 115". Negotiations commenced in November 2015 with Townsville Marine's very efficient receptionist. We organised the motor to be freighted to WA at my expense and I dutifully paid on the invoice prior dispatch on 7th December. Motor arrived late December, minus some connections and booklets but was fitted January 2016 by my resourceful local Yamaha Dealer, who then informed me the motor was in fact a 2013! A three year old motor! Emailed Townsville Marine detailing the discrepancy but no reply. Called and spoke with the sales manager who "brushed me off" and informed me it was advertised as "new" and that's what we delivered. Tricked, absolutely!
