Up to 10 people can enjoy comfortable accommodation with a choice of continental or hearty cooked breakfast served in the dining area. You may also have the option of preparing your own breakfast in your suite. Evening meals are available by arrangement. From Sonja's B&B you are just a stone's throw away from rejuvenating in the therapeutic waters of the Hot Artesian Baths. Visit John Murray's Art Gallery and other local arts and crafts, or the fascinating Amigo's Castle and Astronomer's Monument. Kangaroos, wallabies and birds are plentiful on the opal fields just a short stroll from Sonja's. Try your luck fossicking for opal, and don't forget to relax on the balcony to watch our magical sunrises and sunsets.

At the 2006 census, Manilla had a population of 2,081 people. Manilla is famous for its setting as a fishing and paragliding area. The name Manilla comes from the Gamilaraay language, and is said to mean 'winding river'. Manilla was established in the 1850s at the junction of the Namoi River and the Manilla River. It lies next to the Bundarra-Barraba Important Bird Area which is important for the conservation of the endangered Regent Honeyeater. Manilla is also well known for Split Rock Dam on the Manilla River and Lake Keepit on the Namoi River. We especially enjoy entertaining glider pilots of all disciplines - both of us are experienced paragliding, hang-gliding and sailplane pilots and can help out if you would like to fly in the local area.
