I began taking lessons at Encantador in January 2014, after spending years between other riding schools and pony clubs in the Newcastle/Post Stephens area. In my 10 months under Gaylene's instruction I have learned more and progressed further than my previous 4 years training with other instructors. Gaylene is intelligent, funny and has an amazing talent for teaching. She takes the time to communicate with her students and goes above and beyond to ensure her students continue to learn and develop their skills. Quite often, Gaylene intuitively identifies and teaches me to correct problems that I have been completely unaware of, and as a result, my riding ability has advanced much quicker and more thoroughly than it has at any other school. She is incredibly perceptive and relatable, always encouraging safety and bringing interest and humour to each and every one of our lessons. Jess is a beautiful hard working young woman who awes me every time I have the pleasure of seeing her ride. Her friendly dynamic and laidback nature makes Encantador a pleasure to attend. The fellow riders and staff I have met at Encantador are always friendly and smiling, but the horses really steal the show. I have met hundreds of riding school horses in my time as a rider; none have stolen my heart quite like the mounts at Encantador. It was very clear right from the beginning, Gaylene respects and loves each one of her horses, and it truly shows. While catering to riders of all levels, the horses of Encantador are composed, hard working and well looked after. Every experience I have had at Encantador has been far superior to any other riding school I have attended, and the quality of my riding and understanding of the sport has grown to greater levels, more quickly than I could have imagined. I thoroughly look forward to my lessons every week and will continue to do so. I cannot recommend the team at Encantador highly enough.
