“My lovely friends decided to take me to Palace Chinese and even though it was a Wednesday evening, they were crazy busy! I haven't seen a restaurant this busy on a Wednesday ever! We had to wait a little longer than the 15 minutes we were told (about 35 mins) which wasn't great but the staff literally didn't stop, busily taking orders at tables, at the counter, on the phone and handing out food. Very impressive. The food was fabulous and worth the wait, I can see why it's so popular. There were quite a few other Chinese restaurants that we walked past while waiting but all with very few customers. They were definitely all at the Mandarin Palace! Highly recommended.”

Australia has a love affair with Thai food. It started casually at the corner Thai cafe. We were seduced by the coconut milk, the chilli kick and the exotic lemon grass. We got used to the fish sauce. Thai was quick and cheap and we loved it. The complexity of traditional Thai caught our breath and we fell in love all over again. We respect that the balance of flavours must be preserved at all cost. We are committed. A Thai meal is an exquisite balance of sweet, salty, sour and hot. The defining flavours are authentic green produce, fish sauce, chilli pastes and coconut milk. Salt is rarely used as fish sauce provides that element along with the strong Thai soy sauce. Garden produce - coriander, ginger, tumeric, native basil, lemon grass, mint and tamarind - must be fresh as must be the seafood. Traditionally, rice is the centrepiece of the meal to be shared with family and friends. With a commitment to freshness, we use local produce while taking pains to protect the cuisine's integrity. Thai Satay Hut has it's own market garden. We know it well now and we want you to experience at home the authentic flavours of our restaurant.

“Hong Kong Restaurant was great. The restaurant offers yummy, cheap Asian food, but the quality is amazing and I can see now why they have so many good reviews. All the waitstaff are there to help you out, the chefs have no problem adjusting your order to suit you either! Good atmosphere, it also offers a good vantage point for the downtown area. Wonderful experience, highly recommended.”

“Excellent food here, always fresh and lovely and the service was great too. Prices are good, not too expensive, in fact they have a lunch time special where you can order a meal served with Fried Rice for $9.00. We had the Mixed Entree, Duck in Peking Sauce, Fried Rice and King Prawns with Cashews and Vegetables, and 2 Cokes for only $54. We were charged 80c for the take away containers as we couldn't eat it all!”

“My lovely friends took me to have dinner at Raya Chinese Restaurant late last year. All staff were so very friendly and there were lots of visitors. We order the meals and they come out very prompt. The meals are very good and came out in decent size portions too. This place is also worth a visit. Really lucky to have this restaurant in a country town like Alstonville.
